About Cat TuckerQualifications Letter From Cat
QualificationsCity of Gilroy Commissions and Task Forces:
Letter From CatDear Gilroy Citizens, After thorough reflection and discernment I have decided to be a candidate for election to Gilroy City Council this coming November. Largely because of the extensive knowledge and experience I have gained from city committees I have served on, I feel I can make good decisions to improve our city and ensure that it remains the wonderful community that it is. My goals for Gilroy are to provide a safe community with planned growth and strong economic development while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Please take time to read more about the issues I believe are critical to our community by clicking here. Also let me know what you think regarding these issues by clicking here. I have been a member of our Gilroy community since 1983. This community is where Sean, my husband of 27 years, and I have raised our two children, Austin and Angelique. Both my children attended Gilroy public schools and are currently enrolled in college - I am very proud of them! Over the past 24 years I have been involved with many city committees and I am very active within the St. Mary Parish community. I have held city leadership roles including Chair of the Gilroy Planning commission. I was a Planning Commission member for 8 years and am currently on the Parks and Recreations Commission. I have been a member of the Down Town Task Force, the Cultural Center Task Force, the Gilroy General Plan Committee, the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Committee, the Fire Dept Master Plan Committee, the 2nd Santa Theresa Sound wall Committee and the Glen Loma Ranch Liaison Committee. At St. Mary's Parish I have been involved in Youth Ministry for 11 years and have been the Youth Group Leader for the past 4 years. Also, I am a member of the Pastoral Council and I teach adult catechism. I have just recently graduated from the Institute of Leadership in Ministry which is a 3 year leadership program offered by the Bishop's office of Pastoral Ministry. I have worked for Applied Materials for the past 13 years and currently work in the Display division as a Product Marketing Configuration Specialist. I hope to now serve the gilroy community in a broader capacity as your elected city council person. Warm Regards and Blessings, Cat Tucker |
